A calm corner, using only what you have
You do not need an empty room or a new armchair. A small place to pause can begin with a corner you already pass every day.

Choose the place you actually use
Start with a chair near the window, the end of your sofa, or the bedside table. Choose somewhere you naturally settle, rather than somewhere that only looks good in a photograph. Give yourself permission to work with the room as it is.
Remove one layer of distraction
Put away the items that belong elsewhere. You do not need to clear every surface. Leave the things that support your pause: a book you are reading, a lamp, or a blanket you like. Try the space before adding anything.
Make comfort the test
Sit down for a few minutes. Is the light comfortable? Can you reach your cup? Would moving the chair help? These little adjustments often matter more than a decorative purchase.
Give it a place in your day
Use your corner for the first few pages of a book, a quiet drink, or a brief pause after work. A space becomes yours through use. If it gathers clutter again, reset one small surface and begin there.
One small habit at a time.
